Five Autumn 2018 Trends You NEED to Know
The trends are coming thick and fast this autumn, with everything from glossy fabrics to fringing taking centre stage on the designer catwalks and beyond. But which trend will you stick with this season? Check out our five favourite autumn trends for 2018 and see how you can get them into your wardrobe!
1. A roaring trend
In case you haven't already 'spotted' the leopard print fashions lining the high streets this season, then it's time you knew - animal print is BACK and it's bigger than ever as we move from autumn to winter 2018. The likes of Tom Ford and Balenciaga were sporting these prints across their runways and now we're enjoying them in our own wardrobes. But how do you rock this look without straying into Kat Slater territory? The key is to keep your entire look minimal and understated. Choose from stripy zebra prints or dotty leopard and pair with our suede boots or flats for a pared-down, fashion-forward look.
2. Make it shine
Looking for a bit of shine in your clothing as we move into party season? You've got impeccable timing - glossy fabrics are here for autumn, and they're here to stay! High-shine fabrics adorned the designer catwalks earlier this month, and so if you're a fan of shimmer you're in luck. Our shimmer tops are ideal for bringing out your inner Ice Queen as we move into the colder temperatures. Match with simple, non-glossy accessories to ensure that the focus stays on your staple piece. Keep all eyes on you and don't let them stray.
3. Fringe benefits
Forget festival tassels that hang from every top when summer comes around - this autumn, fringing has evolved for the cooler months. Fringing has started appearing on everything from party dresses to knitwear, so get on board with this trend the easy way - with one of our fringed snoods! Perfectly on-trend yet super practical for keeping out the cold, our snoods will last you until spring rolls around. Look out for fringed dresses and tops as we move into the Christmas party preparations.
4. Blue on blue
Shades of brown and black can be a bit dreary when September arrives. If you find yourself putting away your blue shades and reaching for the darker colours when the nights draw in, then stop! Dusky, powdery blues are everywhere this season, but rather than summer dresses and floaty tops you'll find them on cosy tunics and knitwear. Shop through our blue pieces to find a trendy winter-appropriate item to add to the wish-list.
5. Play your wild card(igan)
Cardigans have come in from the cold, and we're welcoming them with open arms this autumn. These knits were spotted at Miu Miu and Erdem, and who are we to argue with the designers? Wear brightly coloured ones for your day, or try adding a darker shade and belting it around the waist for a nighttime look.
